I heard yesterday of a(nother) very well-known figure in the Christian world who has run aground morally. If anyone seemed to be beyond this kind of moral failure ... I pray he can be restored somehow. (I won't be publishing a name here).
It so happens that I'm preaching tomorrow on the Temptation of Christ ... it struck me that Christ was only ever one choice away from losing it all, and so are you and I. It really is as close as that. This Christian brother has made some bad choices, but it could be any of us.
"Let him who thinks he stands watch out, lest he fall ..."

cheers for popping by me blog-
I sympathise with your agony and search for the realness and vitality and freshness and raw honesty of christ a among the land and the poor here.
((;-))be careful- one day like me-
and endup - leaving 27 yrs of ministry/pastoring/church fixing.. in every fad and movement from vineyard tae emerging church.. leave it all behind.. to work in debenhams.. to leave the temple and build the father's house out there in creation..
and feel like your only just starting..
((;-))
you might end up .. eyes cracking open- wiping them.. to see the majority of church - like a joseph disapora - an 80 years exodus of 3 generations of saints across the land from the trenches of the first world war.. till now.. as 'the church'
((;-)) and move from the house of smoke and mirrors
into REALITY of Christ and his broken body - now the majority- of saints in creation.. that screams for them - me and you- to be there.. and when we jump- find that the water's lovely..
the joy! the grin of Christ in a 21st galilee..as we at last find ouselves doing what we were always meant for..

it's scary ...but also comforting that Jesus was only ever one step away from sin. It 'just' (ha ha!) requires us to say NO to the enemy at each and every vital temptation.
easier said that done. I too pray for all of us - esp leaders who've gone off the rails -that they will be restored.
The church is a pretty unforgiving place. That's scary too
